FAQs

  • It depends! The duration of therapy varies depending on individual circumstances, goals, and progress. Some may find relief and achieve their objectives in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy to address deeper issues or maintain ongoing support. Together, we will regularly assess your progress and collaboratively decide on the duration of therapy that best suits your needs

  • Therapy sessions typically last around 50 minutes to an hour, although the duration can vary depending on individual needs and preferences. The frequency of sessions is also tailored to each client's unique situation, ranging from weekly appointments to bi-weekly or monthly sessions.

  • I am an in-network provider with BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield), Aetna, UHC, and Cigna insurance, which means I can directly bill for covered services. For clients with coverage, your out-of-pocket expenses will typically be determined by your insurance plan's copay or deductible. For those without insurance coverage or seeking out-of-network services, my standard fee per session is $150.

  • Therapy can be beneficial for anyone seeking support, guidance, and personal growth. If you're experiencing emotional distress, facing challenges in your relationships, or seeking to improve your overall well-being, therapy may be a helpful resource. During our initial consultation, we can discuss your concerns, goals, and expectations to determine if therapy is the right fit for you.

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a therapeutic approach primarily used to treat individuals who have experienced traumatic events or distressing life experiences.

During EMDR sessions, the therapist guides the client to recall distressing memories while simultaneously directing their attention to external stimuli, such as hand movements or sounds. This bilateral stimulation is believed to facilitate the brain's natural processing of traumatic memories, allowing them to be reprocessed in a way that reduces their emotional intensity.

EMDR aims to help individuals process traumatic memories, alleviate associated distress, and develop adaptive coping mechanisms. It's often used in conjunction with other therapeutic techniques and has been shown to be effective in treating conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, depression, and other trauma-related conditions.

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a therapy technique used to treat anxiety disorders and OCD, involving gradually exposing individuals to feared situations or thoughts while refraining from engaging in compulsive behaviors, helping to reduce anxiety over time.
